Ranch Dressing Mix

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread

Hi! I'm new here- I've been reading the forum for a while, though. In early February, Marie posted a request for a Ranch salad dressing mix, and I've been trying to find my recipe ever since. Finally found it! To me, this tastes very similar to the "Hidden Valley" mix, but this is better, and cheaper, especially if you grow your own herbs or buy in bulk.

Ranch Dressing Mix

15 saltines 2 c. dry parsley 1/2 c. dry minced onion 2 T. dry dill weed 1/4 c. onion salt 1/4 c. garlic salt 1/4 c. onion powder 1/4 c. garlic powder

Powder crackers in blender. Add next 3 ingredients and blend again. Dump mixture into a bowl and add the remaining ingredients. 1 Tbsp. mix equals 1 envelope of store-bought mix. I use this in pasta salad, for oven roasted potatoes, for dip, etc. For dressing: 1 T. mix, 1c. mayo, 1 c. buttermilk. Sorry this got so long. Merry

I need to learn how to do the format for postings. This isn't how I typed it, honest! :~)
