Brenda, can you go into the area on your computer that says history. It should show up some of your sights by the day, week and other information. I also have made the mistake of deleting my favorite sights and this was one way I was able to rebuild. As for the other sights that you are missing, I am sure all of us can list our favorite sites to get you started again. I also did a copy and paste to all of my favorite sights and made a printed copy in case I did this again. Greenspun.com and Lusenet can help you rebuild by clicking unto them and checking out the different sights. Jenn

I meant to say I had to boot my computer up.Had to install the programs all over.Took most of the day to do it.I lost everything.Had to delete out the old programs and start all over again. No,it wasn't a virus that caused all this. Thanks Brenda The Farm

I might be able to walk you through recovering them from your computer. Even though you think they are gone, they might not be, but I need some more info to determine if they are still there. Where did you have them stored (in internet explorer favorites??)? What happened to the computer (what sort of crash, etc.). Anything you can tell me would be helpful, including what operating system your running (what version of windows, etc.).

Had a "SAVER" message that kept coming up on the screen, would get in the way at times.Called Gateway, they tried 3 times to get rid of it,nothing worked. The forth time they had me delete out all the files, everything was deleted,I had to reload all the disks back in.This took most of the day to get it up and running again. We had the web sites in Internet Explorer Favorities. We are running WindowsXP.It did solve the problem.By the way, where do you get the pictures from that you put in your posts and how do you use them? Thank-You Brenda The Farm

Well, unfortunately they really are gone then. I am not sure why they would have you delete everything since you could have just done a backout restore or at least had you backup your favorites, etc. first, but that's one of the reasons I don't like Gateway's tech support. I get so exasperated with the way Gateway has folks do things! But, that is just my opionion cause I am a Dell fan and think they have THE best tech support and know how to do it right!

Well, as far as getting back your favorites...best bet is to just use Google searches and surf..surf..surf! By the way, since you are free and clear in your favorites, be sure and create new folders and organize your favorites. If you go to "favorites" you can create new folders and organize your favorites. For instance, in favorites, I have a craft folder. In the craft folder I have folders for knitting, scrapbooking, sewing, etc. It makes finding which site you want so much easier if you like to add lots of sites. I even have folders within the folders such as under "crafts", I have "knitting", "socks", "children's", "adults", etc. If you need directions on how to do this, just let me know!

The pictures, etc. that I do are from clipart, animated sites, or just my own cartoons or scanned or digital camera images. To add a photo, you can click here to go to my thread on How to Add a Photo. Here are also some other threads on how to do bold, italics, make posting a recipe to come out right, etc.:
