Unified Theory of Y2K: Oil --> Weather Mod --> Chemtrails --> Drought & YfluK Bug --> FOFF?

What if the government saw the potential for catastrophic production slowdowns in the oil industry as the weak link for avoiding panic and therefore decided to reduce the demand for heating oil by modifying the weather with aerial spraying or chemtrails, leading to drought and the YfluK bug and fix-on-failure failures? Wouldn't this explain a lot of what we're seeing?

It would counter all my experience in dealing with gubmint types. In all my years of interfacing with these folks, I've yet to meet one smart enough to hire for a real job. A theory like this give'em credit for too much gray matter.

Actually it's the simplified theory of Y2K:

(a) y2k IT glitches + (b) y2k embedded systems glitches + (c) human resources needed for repairs/patches/workarounds of both + (d) yFLUk = added uncertainty for the Jan-Feb time frame.

The National Flu Surveillance Network has unequivocally indicated that, as of Jan. 14, almost 90% of the US population is under "warning" and/or "alert" flu status. This isn't funny and it does affect Y2K directly. Western Europe's situation is even worse, as the "flu" (or whatever this is) started earlier. So this would indicate that flu-wise the worse is yet to come.

Take care

Dancr:

The likely Y2K scenario to play out will be akin to a low-grade immolation. Problems will be spun in PR as very "low grade," non- critical and easy to fix.

General ignorance--not to be confused with stupidity!--will/has account/ed for public perception of the breadth and/or scope of Y2K malfunctions.

What the public threshold [is/will be] to deal with FOFF's is unprecedented and unknown. This has never happened before.

It may take an act of Congress to lift the veil of non-disclosure by those who "know" (i.e., programmers) the true scope and effort required to implement viable FOF's.

Public confidence will likely take a big hit at some point on the Y2K FOF timeline. Also, an unknown element.

The unknown unknowns have yet to be revealed.

Speculation--such as your post here, Dancr--will be rampant. A wait- and-see attitude is probably the only course of action. Too many interconnected "surprises" to anticipate how they will play out.

These will be interesting times, indeed.

Robert, you need to change FOF to Fix on ***Necessity***... :o)

Dancr,

Whooa, and I thought I was paranoid :o)

I think you make a lot of sense, but again I'm not sure if the know- nothings have enough grey matter to orchestrate such a stramash...

Either way this confluence of factors will serve to exacerbate the problem as George rightly points out. Cough, sneeze, hoik, splutter...

"Modify the weather?" Wow!

-- JoseMiami (caris@prodigy.net), January 15, 2000.

I disagree with the gray matter references. ;-)

And this is just the tip of the iceburg. My reliable sources have told me that the 99% of the power around the world went out at the stroke of midnight Jan 1. TPTB have somehow fooled us into thinking it is still on. When will they tell us the truth?

-- Butt Nugget (catsbutt@umailme.com), January 15, 2000.

Yesterday, there was a fantastic thread started by Arnie, and now we are back to this hyper-paranoia.

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), January 15, 2000.

When I first read Dancr's post, I started laughing because it seemed like a parody.

But after thinking a bit, I considered the possibility that it could have been entered seriously, given the volume of nonsense that's been posted on TB2K. But I kept on laughing.

I do have one question: When is martial law going to be declared? Oh excuse me, Marshall Law.

Lars, if you consider this 'flu' epidemic as hyper-paranoia, you either:

(a) have not suffered this 15-day "flu" yourself, nor witnessed anyone close to you suffering through it. (b) you are not responsible for Y2K glitch repair projects, either IT or non-IT, particularly during the Jan-Feb time frame when the 'flu' epidemic and Y2K glitches will peak. (c) you have not visited the National Flu Surveillance Network web site at " http:// 63.68.50.160 ", indicating that Texas, New York, Massachussets, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, etc., are already under the "warning" status plus many others under "alert".

or maybe all of the above.

Take care

Thank you for summarizing the thinking of so many posters here.

It explains EVERYTHING!!

There is a book here: THEORY 2000

-- I'mSo (happy@prepped.com), January 15, 2000.

George,

You are right. I have not had the flu, nor do I trivialize it. It sounds nasty. And right again, I have not done any y2k glitch repair. So what's your point?

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), January 15, 2000.

Newsweek reported that 95% of the flu cases are the Sydney Flu Strain. This flu was first reported in the United States three years ago by tourists who visited Sydney Australia, and brought it home with them. Now by puting on our DOOMER LOGIC THINKING CAPS we realize that the words tourists and terrorists sound suspiciously alike. Therefore this flu epidemic is actually a terrorist attack. I will immediately alert World Net Daily as I'm sure they will want to write an article about this.

-- Butt Nugget (catsbutt@umailme.com), January 15, 2000.

Bob,

Maybe I am too literal, but wouldn't "low-grade immolation" be an oxymoron?

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), January 15, 2000.

---Dancr, nice theory. Something to consider, though. The chemtrail as opposed to contrail thing has been gloing on for several years. La Nina is most likely the major cause of the strange weather, along with the increasing solar maximum. As regards to y2k, my best analysis at this point is we just plain lucked out, along with a TON of remediation effort, and a lot of that was various flavors of this "windowing" deal, etc, going by all the posts and reports here and elsewhere. And this windowing appears to have it's own set of longer term potential glitches. It certainly does appear to have "plugged the dike" in a number of areas, and it also appears to be leaking all over as well,in databases, and I am HIGHLY suspicious of a lot of these "accidents" we are seeing, and the oil posts are very telling as well. Long and medium term appears to be where the major problems will be occuring, and it remains to be seen if any of those will co-timeline-occur in such numbers to be a really big problem that will effect everyone radically. That's the big magilla, all the smaller glitches won't matter to anyone who isn't experiencing them, but it will take a major oil and gas price increase to be felt by all, because of the undeniable ripple effect of price increases in all sectors of the economy. So, we wait and see. About the only other thing that might really make the news is some huge bank totally FUBARED, or maybe a major accident at a nuke or chemical plant on a Bhopal or Chernobyl scale, anything else will be too small to "make the scene".

Other possibilites might be a major city losing water for an extended time-not due to pipe rupture, but computer related-or perhaps the same scenario with the sewerage system, necessitating evacuations to ward against health problems. Will be hard to ignore any of those type incidents in the press.

I think so, anyway.

Love theorizing, though....

..like your monalisa pic...but I did expect a dancing pic..hehehehe

My point Lars is that, apparently, you have no brains.

Take care

My cousin knows a huy at the Pentagon. They were over to the house last night. He told me of the virtually exact same thing - I couldn't believe it when I read your post. According to what he told me, you're getting very, very warm!

Ah George, I love it when you're snippy

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), January 15, 2000.

Whoever would do such a thing must a hatred for humanity that won't quit. They must be in control of so many resources, and have such a single-mindedness of chaos creation, that they could not be a government. They must be BEHIND the government, puppet-masters. Probably of the same religion (belief-system), and therefore can rely on each others responses to any situation by systematic training. Not a conspiracy - a religion. Not a government - a generation.
