Reserve Fuel Light

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Hi When I turn the ignition on, the orange reserve fuel light comes on during the start up test. However, I ran out of fuel in the middle of nowhere yesterday, no reserve light came on. Is the sensor in the tank adjustable? Is there maybe a fuse that has blown?

Olly, The low fuel light on my bike has been unreliable in the past. Once it came on and I ran out of fuel 2 km later. Since then I've never trusted it. When I fill up I reset the trip meter and use the distance travelled on that tank as a guide. I don't think there is a fuse in the cicuit.

Cheers

James, how many kms do you get out of a full tank?

Joe, It ranges between 300 and 350 km running premium unleaded (95 RON). I've noticed in the 3 1/2 years I've had the bike that the fuel consumption doesn't seem to vary much. I get a similar range whether I'm doing 110 km/h highway riding or 50 - 150 km/h in the twisties. Cheers,

Premium unleaded (95 RON)? Is that like Shell Optimax....I didn't think the MV performed as well with Optimax. I thought Regular Unleaded was the go.
