Dear Norman,

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Similar topics have come up on this website before. Nothing is going to turn a 14' outboard utility into a rowing boat. Rowing rigs are expensive. Save your money and invest it in a worthwhile rowing craft.

Andri is right.

However if you are bound and determined, the least expensive choice is to go to the local Salvation Army used stuff store, look for a rowing machine with a sliding seat. Then get a pair of semi truck mirror holders at the junk yard, weld them up. There has been some discussion on this site about doing that.

When you are done, you'll still want a row boat to put it in though. -Gary-
