Peak Oil and Elevators

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

Hi There, I have been concerned about this up disaster facing the US and the rest of the world for some time. I remember the gas line we had in 1974 and 1979 and Japan was taken off guard also. Japan passed a law that outlawed new elevator installations with generators and all equipment had to be energy efficient. We know pay $51 a barrel and have heard some experts say that oil in the near future is going to be $190 a barrel by 2006.

This event will impact our way of life more important than what controler you are standing in front of. because 2/3 of the world economy is energy related. In our bussiness we need to live closer to the cities where the elevators are and in that type of event the cities will be dangerous. This event will also impact some of our savings because some of the world currencies will fall off a cliff.

The only solution so far is LNG and hydrogen powered vehicles but you need electricity to produce hydrogen and our Nuclear Reactor Reaserch is been abandoned due to the political climate and terrorism. A little house in the counrty with 10 years of food might not be such a bad idea. If you ever wanted to do some traveling you might want to do it sooner than later. Jim
