Burnett oil paintings

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco Art : One Thread

I too have an oil painting by "BURNETT" Paris street scene. I have seen several of these in my travels (all different)but obviously by the same artist. The thing about these paintings which no one else mentions is that they are all Knife paintings. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has this type of painting.

We have seven of theses painting of various sizes all depicting Paris scenes. We picked them up from a local art dealer in Chester England about 17 years ago. I would be interested to hear more about the artist.

I also own 3 Burnett painting depicting a paris street scenes, one large one and two small ones. The one small one has a picture of the Moulin Rouge (looks like an old mill). I have tried to find out more about the artist, but had no luck so far. I would appreciate any info anyone can give me about the artist. I live in South Africa, and received the paintings as a gift along with others from my grandfather about 15 years ago.

i have a very large burnett. i have seen one like it with the large tower in paris in center left. mine is very much like it but it has a white domed building like the us capitol. by the looks of the buildings and the people it is in the time line of the 1940's. i also have a very simmilar painting done with a knife also of the same type of scene "paris" by an artist named colin. someone offered me 5600.00 for the burnett but i have no idea about the "colin"

I have an Burnett painting of Paris also. Everyone who sees it compliments on it and I am searching to find out more about him since we have become quite fond of it. Sad thing is, my son found it out in someone's trash when we used to live in New Jersey, so I know nothing about it! It's enormous, about 3 and a half feet by 2 and a half feet and framed. I have seen some for sale on e-bay and they go for several hundred dollars, one even $500 but another for over $2,000. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
