Hi, just thought I'd throw the question out there that I know i have always wounderedand find out what the general wages are for service/break down tech's and installation tech's in other parts of the world.

I know in Australia they are anywhere from $24-27AUS per hour plus all the little extras

Depends on where and for whom in Australia Maika. I know in some companies it varies between states, with different EBA's . The top rate i've heard of is $30 per hour for a standard service tech, plus the extras like fares and meal allowances and such. But that $30 is conditional on no penalty rates, i.e. instead of 1.5 times for the first 2 hours, the rate is flat $30 for all overtime hours.

Hi There, the highest scale in the US is Reno Nevada and the lowest is New Mexico and ElPaso. The Lowest in the world paid emen I have seen is Jakarta Indonesia. The Best place to retire outside of the US is the Philippines if you like girls and enjoy living like a king. You can even live there on a reverse climate from Nov to March the weather is perfect and come back to the US the rest of the year. Jim

what about europe??? I think germany has the highest paid email in the world especially due to the dollar taking a dump. A couple of years ago reno and germany were tops pay way about the same. I have been to most countries in europe and as far as living you can have western europe, its the same as PC America with too much government. Eastern Europe is better like the wild west. Its a sad state when a third world countries has more freedom than the so called free countries with there cameras on every corner taking your picture and computers tracking your every move, like a big stress sandwich.PI is still better the wild west of Asia and like Italy they know how to live and enjoy life. well, in my little corner of the world, i get about 32.50 an hour, roughly, 6% above scale, (so i won't quit them). i run a downtown route, with my own vehicle, and that usually brings me an additional $120 a week in travel expenses. none of which would be possible without my long term association with the I.U.E.C. over time call backs are at X 1.7 my rate and scheduled o.t. is X2 my rate, plus all my pension, vacation and health benefits

to earn more pennies in the uk its better to work for the smaller lift companies rather than the main players i personally have earn't over £35k p/a over the last three yrs ote this yr will be £45k+ my hourly rate is £11 p/h no on call and i never work sundays dont you all start thinking i'm a swell head & blowing it up my own arse you all have to remember you got to be worth what your paid if you are good & getting paid shite throw in your cards(better in summer everyone on their holidays)& you will get a rise this however only works once, but also have a new start in the pipeline as you could get pumped
