F4-1000 Suspension Settings

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Wondering if anybody has played around with the suspension on their 1000's yet? Here in So. Cal, my bike tends to bounce A LOT on the older highways (5, 405, etc) due to the road undulations. I'm looking for some recommendations to get rid of it, or at least minimize it. Thanks in advance.

Sonds like you need to up the rebound damping.

I had my dealership set mine up and it was horrid, so I did it myself. I weigh 215lbs so setting the sag was the most important I have the sag set @ 35mm. On the front I set rebound at 4 clicks back from full right. Compression 3 clicks back from full right. On the rear.. I brought my ride hight up 2 turns up from stock. Go up too much and the bike starts to get a little unstable for my taste. Also check your chain this will cause it to have a little more slack. I dont remember what I have set in the rear, I think I set Rebound 13 clicks back from full. Low speed compression 11 clicks back from full. High speed compression 13 clicks back from full. But I'm not 100 % sure.

This works for me, I'm a heavy guy this might be a little stiff for a lot of you. What ever you do, write down the stock settings so you can go back to them if you don't like what you did.
