Unispacer Surgery

greenspun.com : LUSENET : About Joints : One Thread

I'm having the surgery in just one week (Jan 19). I have read so much on the Unispacer, both good and bad. I just don't know what to do, and I'm running out of time. I know people who had bad luck will write, and people with good luck just go on with their lifes. So right now I don't know which way to go, or who to turn to for help.

I'm guessing you've already had the surgery. I've been considering it for over 2 years and have been kind of scared. I can't walk more than 3 blocks without my knee swelling up. I've learned to tolerate the pain that comes with day to day walking but its uncomfortable. I played football in college, and was very active, but for the last 7 years, I can only ride bike as excercise. It kind of stinks, but I've no choice. I was hoping this surgery would help me to be more active and lessen the pain, but I'm affraid I may be taking a risk to make my situation worse if the surgery is not successful. Could you please give me a status on your outcome, or if you haven't done it why not? I am 35 years old. Any info would really help. Thanks.

I also am very interested in your progress. I have condromalacia and am tired of the daily pain. My injury was a result of a car accident. I am only 32 and tired of not being able to kneel and do other things with my kids.
