Mary Gold Original Watercolors

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Art Deco Society of Washington : One Thread

I inherited two mary gold original paintings from my grandfather. Both are signed and approximately 6" by 15" in size. One depicts a mother and child sitting under a tree and the other is of a seated woman surrounded by small birds. The former is slightly damaged and the latter is in perfect condition. I'm guessing they are between 75 and 85 years old. I am having a hard time finding out what the value of these pieces are. I would greatly appreciate any information or direction. Thank you.

Hi, I am also wondering about the value of Mary Gold paintings. I have seen 4 in an antique shop for approx $100 each and I am not sure whether to buy them or not. They APPEAR o be originals. What do you think? Thanks. Melody :)

I, too have Mary Gold prints. I live in Australia and have 2 that were passed down from my grandmother. They both have two people in them, male and female. The lady is dressed in the 1920's style dress and the male in clown type outfit, big ruffle collar. A night time scene with a cherub in one at the top of the print. Have seen prices of $85.00 at Pritchard Antiques. Thanks

I also have a mary gold print orig tag from store. The title of mine is Wishing Tree. I bet the frame is orig has size on the tag. It belonged to my Grandmother. I'm thinking since my mom was born in 1924 the picture is from the early 20's a little before she is not the youngest child. I would love to know more about the price, year, frame ect.... thanks n. hick
