Good News: MV AGUSTA TO TAKE PART IN THE EUROPEAN SUPERSTOCK

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

The Gimotorsports team will be competing with two F41000S for Iannuzzo and De Marco in the continental championships while the MV Agusta Deutschland team confirms Jorg Teuchert in the German Superbike series. In 2005, MV Agusta has two main objectives in race participation: to win the German SBK IDM championship and the continental Superstock series title. There is full confirmation in the first case for both the team and the rider that after 28 years absence were able to regain the success that rightfully belongs to the best known marque in the history of motorcycling - Jorg Teuchert and the MV Agusta Deutschland team ( www.mvracing.de ). Winners in 2004 at Schleizer Dreieck and Oschersleben, they are amongst the forerunners in the fight for the 2005 German title in the SBK IDM category. In addition to the German title, there will also be other opportunities for recognition on the world stage in the form of The Superstock Championship Luigi D'Esposito's Team Gimotorsports ( www.gimotorsports.it ) will represent MV Agusta in this hard-fought series. The team will be able to count on the well-proven support of Bruno Sacchi's Unionbike and the new partnership with Ducci Enterprises and will field two young winning riders. Vittorio Iannuzzo and Fabrizio De Marco. Vittorio Iannuzzo, twenty-two from Avellino is a four-stroke Maximoto specialist and brings with him a European Superstock title that he won in 2002. De Marco, twenty-three from Rome already has an Italian 125 GP title. The MV Agusta Deutschland team and Gimotorsports will benefit from factory technical support regarding engine management and development. In the latter part of the season, Teuchert and Iannuzzo will be working together on a joint project, namely the F41000 World SBK. This new Italian-German joint effort will be responsible for developing the bike that MV Agusta will then use in their official return to competition. If development goes as planned, this doesn't rule out the possibility that the bike may take part in some SBK world championship races under the wild card system. Today, the yellow-silver team Gimotorsports F41000S will arrive at the Valencia circuit for the first tests, whereas Jorg Teuchert and the MV Agusta Deutschland team will move to Spain at the end of January 2005.

This is good news. It has been disappointing that there have not been more entries for MV. Perhaps this can start the ball rolling and get some recognition for the MV community. Thanks for the update.
