I would like to recover my in sql 2k from .dbf and .ldf files. my win2k had a problem and hence I am not able to start my sql 2000 server, but with another OS ( win 2k prof) I can see the logical files to my SQL 2k databases. Please advice me on how to recover. I have another machine on which i can create a new database, or copy the logical files. I don't have a backup of the database from which I can restore please help!

You will need to use sp_attach_db which is well documented in SQL Server Books Online.
