Can I Run Final Cut HD and Avid DV Express on the same G5?

Can I Run Final Cut HD and Avid DV Express on the same G5? Obviously not at the same time.... I want to be familiar with both. Or is this asking for trouble? I have the G5 with the dual processor 1.5 gigs, one 23" cinema monitor, a Sony monitor, a terrabyte drive, and also have the AJA IO LA.

Also is importing a project from an Avid Symphony EDL into Final Cut problematic?

Thanks appreciate answers from those w/ expertise in these areas.

I am right now running Final Cut Pro and Avid Xpress Pro (both version 4) on my g4 powerbook with no problems. OS X is very good about not letting individual programs disturb each other.

Don't know about the EDL situation, but I'm sure if it doesn't work directly that you can edit the edl with a text editor and get it to work. Most EDls are just the in and out time- code numbers and the comments delineated (SP?) by either tabs, commas, or semi-colons. At least from what I have seen.

Hope this helps.
