Rowing clothes for winter

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Open-water rowing : One Thread

I'm looking for rowing apparel, top and long pants preferabaly separate, that provides warmth but flexibility and, if it happens, some protection in the event of a spill in cold water.

Dear Doug,

As a lifelong rower and cyclist, I've found that bicycling apparel works pretty well for rowing. Cycling tights and long sleeve jerseys provide warmth without hampering mobility. The materials in cycling apparel are designed to wick away persperation. Some companies even offer wool sports apparel. Wool provides warmth even when completely soaked. Online bike equipment companies include Bike Nashbar, Colorado Cyclist and Performance Bike. There are others. Good luck

Yours,

Andre
