Where there is a language barrier, it can be hard to always be sure that the patients cultural beliefs are being upheld. How could I get around this situation?

Rose, There is no way around the issue of communication. If we fail to establish a clear line of communication with our patients, we fail to deliver the quality of care our patients deserve. The proper use of interpreters and etnic community resources could be one approach.Knowing what is the norm within the culture will facilitate understanding and lessen miscommunication.
