The Truth

If you go to www.census.gov, you will find that there are just over 294,000,000 million people in the United States of America. Amazing yes? Except, when you bring a few other numbers into it, you'll discover that there are far more people running their fucking yaps than ought to be. The most important number is the total number of votes cast in the 2000 election. That number is just over 90 million. Maybe at this point, you see where I'm going with this. 294 million people. 90 million votes cast. Of 294 million people, 209 million are of voting age (18+). But only 90 million votes were cast. In a country that has sacrificed more people and shed more blood than any other to create a representative form of government (America is NOT A DEMOCRACY), less than 50% of people actually went to the polls in 2000 and voted.

Now think for a moment of some of the people you see running their fucking mouths each day about the processes involved in running this country. Do you think they went to the polls? Do you think they got off their dead asses and actually voted on election day? Now remember, the Senatorial, Congressional, and local elections are usually held on the same day in November, so if a person sat at home on election day, they let as many as a dozen or more chances to have their voice heard just flap past them in the breeze (depending on the state). No vote on the president. No vote on a Senator or Senators. None on local representatives. No state senators. No Congressman. NOTHING.

Do you think that the idiots you see filling your TV, airtime on the radio, blogging, yakking in coffee houses, blathering in bookstores, do you think they all bothered to actually go and put it on the line when it matters. The numbers say no. They stayed home, watched Sopranos and dozed off with Dorito dust on their shirts. The more you think about it, the more you realize that there are hordes, just massive hordes of hypocrites out there that should just shut their gasbag flapping cakeholes and save us the oxygen. These include:

Children:

During the DNC, democrats paraded a twelve year old child up onto the stand and gave her the mic. Similarly, there is a 14 year-old conservative kid who has published an entire book on conservative philosophy and how the "liberals" are ruining America morally. With all due respect to this demographic (meaning NONE), shut the fuck up. You little sons of bitches havent' seen life one yet. You know DICK. You have only one purpose in life - to get your ass to school on time each day, stick your faces in those math, history, and english books and learn. This way, when you finally do turn 18 and actually matter in the political course of this country, you'll be able to add numbers so you can discuss the budget, you'll know some history so you can discuss foreign policy, and you will know the English language well enough to articulate your viewpoints. I wish to God I had been the principal of any school that had children doing "walkouts" to protest the Iraq war. I would have taken a cattle prod to each and every one of them. There's a good fucking reason that there are age specifications on almost every high office in the federal government - you need to have life experience. Unless you're willing and able to pick up a gun to defend this country (i.e. are 18), you shut up and do what you're told.

Felons:

After the 2000 election, there was a lot, a LOT of whining about this. Felons in many states are not permitted to vote. There's a freaking reason for this, too. As a felon, you've attacked society. You have damaged and torn at the fabric of a nation. You have incurred expenses in law enforcement, court-appointed officers, judges, bailiffs, most likely the prison system. You OWE this country, and you had a hand in damaging it. Now you have to redeem yourself. You do not get a say in the direction of the society you attacked. It behooves you to make restitution. Then, and only then, will your civil rights be restored, the rights you gave up when you attacked the very society that cradles your existence. Some people say that laws such as these are racist because they "disenfranchise" blacks. To these people, I would say that you're suggesting that black people are predisposed to committing felonies. That makes YOU a racist, you fucking Klansman punk.

Anarchists:

Anyone who calls himself an anarchist, here's what I recommend to others: Go get a Louisville slugger baseball bat. Crack it across the knees of said "anarchist". Take his wallet. If he has nice shoes, take those. If it's a woman, grab her boobies. If they complain, ask them why. After all, this is the sort of life that they profess to love, right? They're anarchists, meaning there should be no government of any kind, correct? And the sole duty of a government is to create and uphold laws. No government, no laws, no wallet for you. Plus, I get to felch your boobies. These are the same dumbasses that like to throw rocks and pipebombs at their little protests, then complain when they get pasted on the skull by a police baton. Isn't that the chaos these hypocritical fucks say they want? No? Okay, then you do want SOME laws. Then you're not an anarchist. Gimme those shoes, you lying fuck.

Anyone else who didn't vote in 2000:

You missed your chance. You gave it up. You quit. I know, you think you're one of those cool, jaded types, right? "Well, I mean, it's not like my vote counts anyway, right?" How the fuck do you know? You don't vote, do you? If you did get off your collective asses and voted, you might find out that you did have a voice. You might find out that politicians will take you more seriously as a voting block. You might find that, if you think about issues, research and learn about them and the history behind them, that you're not a straight-ticket democrat or republican. You might find that you actually agree with some things from both parties. You might find that you actually have to take time out of your facials and massages to learn how to be a citizen of this country. Otherwise, shut up. Quit bitching. Go to work. Pay your taxes, and do what your told. If you are too busy/jaded/apathetic/stupid to have a hand in your own political destiny, then you'll end up taking orders from the rest of us, and you'll fucking like it.

And in case anyone was wondering, I fit into the fourth group. That's right, I didn't vote in 2000. I was like any of over 100 million Americans. I wasn't paying attention. I cared more about XBOX than the ballot box. 9/11 woke me up. It's over, the days where I can just go to work and pay my taxes and think I'm doing my job as a US citizen. From now on, I will be lending my hand to direct this country. Until November 2nd, though, I'm going to follow my own advice. I'm going to shut my fucking mouth. There will not be another political post from me until after the election. When I take my "I Voted" sticker, I'll have the right to speak out on these issues. Until then, I, like so many other millions of Americans, just haven't earned it.

Hey anti! As a public service to you and your lunch table pals, pay special attention to this. ;)

Aw, come on, Anti. What's your real name anyway?

I'm sorry for allatime busting your balls. Heck, anyone who listens to NPR can't be THAT bad.

Now, whats say you and me whip up a rousing chorus of "We Are The World" and "The Star Spangled Banner" for the troops?

Like the votes of the American people matter at all. They serve as "suggestions" for the Electoral College, the representatives from every state that cast the final vote for president, and they are all biased. Look who we have in office today.

-- -- (dermondstate@citywoxley.org), August 29, 2004.

It wasn't the electoral college that allowed Bush to steal the White House, it was the fact that they disenfranchised thousands of black voters in Florida and submitted hundreds of forged absentee ballots. It also didn't hurt that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court had a nephew who was Bush's lawyer.

But they made up for those lost votes with all the illegal alien votes, during then, and since Motor Voter Rights Bill but I'm sure that was actually the Republicans and the massive "Republican media" who always talk about, that really pushed for that, and ballots to also be written in FUCKING SPANISH!

-- (a@b.c), August 29, 2004.

I know what the moter voter bill is. But can you prove it had any effect on the 2000 election?

-- Anti-bush (Comrade_bleh@hotmail.com), August 29, 2004.

The problem with the internet is that it is suchy a lousy such engine. But I suppose I can drudge up all the states that have ballots in Spanish as well. Then find the requirment of knowing English to gain citizenship, and being a citizen in order to vote. Then thumb through how many districts have ballots in Spanish that are also heavily Democrat. I mean we all know illegals tend to vote heavily Republican, even though the Motor Votor Act was passed under a Democratic Congress, where it is illegal in states to ask for proof of Citizenship or a Driver's Licence, something you must be a Citizen to get. (Except for California where Davis finally broke the Democratic stance, and let illegals get Driver's Licences) But still.

I'd be very interested if you showed me how the Motor Voter Bill HAS NOT effected every federal election since it was passed.

-- (a@b.c), August 30, 2004.

I've already said on several occasions that I oppose the Moter Voter bill, and that I think a working knowledge of the English language should be a requirement for citizenship. I'm really not sure what you're trying to prove. The only real point of contention here between us is the effect it had on the Florida election, which is totaly irrelevant, because the Republicans committed fraud on a scale normaly limited to third-world countries. At least in those countries, the UN usualy sends election inspectors. But again, just as always, the United States is above the law.

Two words - Damn Strait

There are reasons that this country does what it does that the public is too stupid to understand. And unless they know and can comprehend these reasons, they should stop advertising their ignorance. And there is a perfectly good reason to go to war and kill people, assholes, to save other people.

-- Marc Iam (achtung@email.com), December 17, 2004.

So we the people should just shut up and do what we're told, hoping that our wonderfully benevolent government, which has NEVER done anything wrong, will do the right thing? And hey, since the people are obviously too stupid to understand the government's noble motives, we should just call this whole "election" deal off and step back and let them handle things, right?
