Sad to report... : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Sad to report that Sean Crane, a sometime poster to this forum was killed Saturday night while riding his MV 1000. He was a hell of a rider and a good guy.

I deepest condolences! I just talked with him a couple weeks ago about tires. He really loved his new MV, so I guess that is not the worst way to go. Ride safe all!!

See his last posting on 8/12 about the 1000 kicking ass.

Did you read his last words? Haunting. Very sorry to hear what happend.

Very very sorry to hear this. I just read his last posting, very haunting.

One of his last posts:

"This bike is so different from the 750 that I wouldn't be suprised if you see them for sale badly crashed with few clean examples being sold by private parties in 2004!

-- sean crane (, August 12, 2004."

-- Allan Gibbs (, August 17, 2004.

A sadly prophetic last post on the Yahoo discussion forum...

"To think I actualy thought of selling this thing??? You can have it when you pry it out of my dying hands." -- Sean Crane

-- Tom Solimine (, August 17, 2004.

Yo! My deepest condolences to our friend....... May he find eternal peace together with our beloved bike, the thing we love doing. Still, the 750cc is the most balanced bike and the latest 1000cc will be the most slick bike. It is tricky to handle different bikes, from standard to sportsbike, from either 600cc or 750cc to 1000cc. Most important is to ride safe and learn the bike first prior riding it hard, learn to give respect to others specially learn to respect your bike......

I just got back from a ride with a group of young straight-line riders and I couldn't help but think that someone among them is going to have a bad fall! I have a knot in my stomach thinking about Sean and more importantly his family. Yesterday, my 5 year old daughter told me over the phone she would never leave me...I only hope I will never leave her. Please be safe out there guys, if not for you, for the ones you love. My heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.

Just curious A... What exactly happened? His fault?

I did not know Sean but I did read when he got the new 1000 and found him to be extremely happy with it and I just smiled for him... Our condolences to his family from upstate NY USA

My condolences. Never a good thing to hear or read about especially in the small MV community. Found this.

-- Rick (, August 21, 2004.

So sad. Looks like he was a very experienced rider. The roads are crowded and dangerous...

Cheers Sean.

I don't know but it seems I'm the only one besides Jerry Mulderig who actually realizes this could be my last mile & I'd be a fool not to enjoy it! OK there is Phil Read (the man won FIA championships on his own bike), Steve Wadsworth & Dwight Mitchel(?). Can anyone else actually ride one of these things? No my bike doesn't look like like Lorraina Bobbits ex-hubbies privates but my tires do. Sean Crane
