How to make my f4s more rideble for me

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

I am trying to make my MV f4s more rideble for me, any suggestions. Is it possible to adjust "ridehight" ?

you can lower the rear with the ride height adjuster and lower the front by lowering the triple tree on the forks. you should consult your local shop.

Many other MV owners have opted to replace the standard clip ons with Ferracci Bar Risers to make the riding position more comfortable. Check them out at: http://www.ferracci.com/2002ferracci/race_accessories/clipons.html

Can you be more specific as to the nature of your difficulty?

Tanks for all advice. I have ridden sportsbikes before, my preveus bike was a suzuki sv 650 s. And i tryed the MV for size before bying, but i am surprised over the radical ridingposition now that i use it every day. I have lowered the ridehight. and hop fore improvment.

I had mine lowered a bit but the Ferraci bar risers made a big difference. I would suggest putting them on as I did.

The first 700 miles on mine I thought I had made the biggest , and most expensive mistake of my riding life.. Fellow MV riders kept telling me that my muscles would adapt... I thought they were full of shite.. but they were absolutely correct... Now my other bike (a BMW K1200RS) is the one that feels abnormal..

My advice is spend some time on the bike and let your muscles adapt before you start changing things...however..IMHO..

1. Lower the bike.. front and rear by about an inch.. you'll lower the center of gravity.. feet will be more planted..Steering/handling will be every bit as good.. I don't care what anyone else says.. you will NOT notice a difference in quickness..

2. Add Ferachi Risers. They don't actually raise the grips, but rather change the angle by about 10 degrees. Worth more than they cost.

3. Add a Throttlemeister Kit.. if your throttle hand goes numb.. this is THE solution. I could NOT live without mine.

4. Gel grips help a bit and for $6.. worth a try. Pro-Grip makes at least 4 types that will work on the F4.

Hope this helps..

Yo! You can always add and inches or two to your height or you can simply try yoga and extends your hand a little bit to increase your reach. I have a years' pass to a good thai massage parlor to relax your aching back as well! Just kidding, buddy. Have a safe ride with your bike. Cheers!

I think i am getting to grips with it, i have done 250km on it now. I noticed that with earplugs you hear the motor better and the gearchanges gets smother.
