MV!!! ABSENT IN The Ochersleben SBK RACE!!! WHY???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

According to the www.mvagusta.it website, they officialy announced that MV Agusta/Dunlop Deutschland will join the German SBK on May 30th 2004 with its pilot Mr. Teuchert. But it has just disappointed millions of MV fans after watching Sunday's race seeing no MV Agusta F4 around... Why??? ....calling.... Mr. Claudio Castiglioni..... We are MV Agusta F4 owners... we want our bikes to be named after a "racebike". The MV's domination in the 50's and the 60's is the past... we want to prove that MV can still dominate the world of racing today...

CIAO!!!

Dude you're confused. They're talking about the German superbike championship, NOT World Superbike championship. The race you saw on Sunday was just the German round of the World Championship.

Hi, Jörg Teuchert is insured after two or three crashes during practice to the last International German Superbike Championship at Hockenheim 2 weeks ago. His little finger is badly insured and it will take him about 4-6 weeks to get well. Bad luck for Jörg and all MV- and Teuchert-Fans! Regards Roland

I'd heard it homolgation problems as the bikes not actually in the showrooms yet!

Also - I've never heard of a racer going sick because of their little finger!!!!! He must have a very unusual riding style to need 6 weeks off for that.

Just like to point out another minor issue - MV's last world championship was actually 1974 - they were the last 4 stroke winners prior to the domination of 2 strokes between 1975 and 2002. The 74 champion was Mr Phil Read who's still out there racing whenever he gets the chance.

The homologation requirements are relative to bikes built apparently and as I understand it this has now been met.

Teuchert is a warrior and if he deems himself unfit to ride there is likely something to it.
