LENOX FURNACE FAN WONT SHUT OFF SOMETIMES

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

I need some advice please. My dad has a Lenox Furnace and every once in a while the fan will not shut off after it is done heating. He has had 3 different control boards installed and now the problem is back again. The funace is a G26Q3/4-100-1. The last circuit board changed fixed it for about 6 months. Any suggestions please? E-mail me at RDGGORNO65@AOL.COM. Thanks for your time.

Randy! I'm not familar with the model number but---. I also don't know if the blower is controlled by the board or if it's controlled by a mechanical fan switch. If it's a mechanical fan switch--chek it. If not--it's gotta be the board. Something is causin the board to fail and it's a good bet the electrical supply is at fault. Check all the grounds in the circuit feedin the furnace.

Dependin upon how old the furnace is can determine what to do with it. I've taken older furnaces that had used the boards when they first came out--and changed'm over to a mechanically controlled furnace. A lot cheaper to replace parts on and a whole lot simplier. Only a qualified serviceman should do it tho. old hoot. Matt. 24:44
