Blacklisted situations

If your house was repossessed and you had bad credit how long are you Blacklisted for? And also if you are Blacklisted and worked as self employed (but with no accounts), how and where is it possible to get a morgage? Thanks Louise

Louise,

As I understand, it is for 6 years, after which period, in theory, the "black mark" drops off your record. However, I don't know when the 6 years runs from, the date of accrual of action, sale of repo'd property, end of 12 year limitation, after death etc, etc. Perhaps someone else does ? There is a section on "Blacklisted" on the Repo site which lists certain lenders, though you need to be very very careful when dealing with subprime lenders. I would recommend you obtain expert advice for this. I would suggest you take a look at the advice on this website too: http://www.debtquestions.co.uk/advice_creditrepair.php If you try and find out your credit rating from Experian, Equifax etc, I believe, this can flag up any possible outstanding debt to a debt collector. Good Luck.

Mark.
