My boss has taken to calling me lazy, hanging up on me, and has even called me a bitch. I feel I need to quit, but am hoping that I can prove a hostile environment and get unemployment benefits. Do I have any hope? And does my resignation letter need to reference the hostile working environment (in case she challenges my claim). And last but not least I read that it needs to be determined that I tried to fix the situation. So I asked her today if she thought we could ever get back to a manageable working relationship and she replied along the lines my needing to earn her respect again (arg!). Help!
