Mother's Day

greenspun.com : LUSENET : FRL friends : One Thread

I'm not sure when you celebrate Mother's Day over there, but it is this Sunday in Australia. So all you Mum's put your feet up and relax and if by chance it's not M/Day over there, just tell everyone you're an Aussie for the day. You might want to practise saying "G/day Mate" and "How about a barby Luv?" to make it authentic.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.

Lon, I reckon it must be Kit's Birthday soon so I'm sending him big hugs and very best wishes for a Happy Birthday. I hope he is keeping well and that you two have a wonderful trip together. (((Kit)))

Tomorrow is Mother's Day here too, Carol.

So here's hoping it's a great one for all FRLians!

Hiya Carol! Kit's birthday is the 24th, but it is never too early to give him a hug. More importantly, it's also crawfish season on the bayou. We just came in from the neighbor's, two houses down where they had a big crawfish boil. there were about 100 folks, kids and dogs. Some homemade wine, cajun sausage, corn and potatoes and mushrooms, and CRAWFISH (about 500 pounds!)

We really love this neighborhood and the friends we've made here. Everyone talks to Kit, and if there's music (there's always music) most of the ladies dance with him.

We are finally in the new house. We only moved five houses down the street, to a double lot we bought about three years ago. I've been working from dawn to dark, and after, for the last 8 weeks. Today is the first day I've taken off any time to speak of, but I did build steps on the back deck this morning before we left for the party. I've taped and textured walls, built decks and steps, landscaped, plumbed, painted, and built things like bookshelves. I am just about bone-tired, but it feels good to feel good enough to work again.

When I get everything looking a little better, I'll post pictures on the web, so ya'll can all see the unsquare corners and unlevel steps. I'm really rushing the job, because I still think Kit and I might get to take the long trip up to Canada this year. I had originally wanted to take off about now, but maybe I'll be to a stopping point in another 2 weeks.

Which brings me back to our other thread. Where's Bee and Helen? Even Trish has been quiet lately. And I know Robbie is off work, so he should be writing a story if he really loved us at all.

Happy Mom's Day to you too!

Happy Mothers Day!! Weeee! :)

-- kritter (k@a.n), May 09, 2004.

WOW! Now there's a blast from the past. So nice to hear from you again, Kritter. What you been up to, and how ya doin'?

-- Lon (lgal@exp.net), May 09, 2004.

Hey Lon, I'm very pleased you are nearing the end of your big project. It must give you a great deal of satisfaction. Time for a break don't you reckon. Whether you get in the car and go or stay around and spend the summer eating and drinking, I hope you make time to relax and just enjoy life for a while.

I hope Mrs Rob and Kritter had a nice Mother's Day. Mine was lovely.

OOOOOooooo that's a purdy pic Gayla. Ya think it would make our Good Sir sneeze though? Maybe we should warn him about the possibility.

Yes, Carol, we all had a really nice Mother's Day. Thanks for asking. Soon comes Father's Day ;-)

Happy belated mother's day to you, too, Carol! And to all the other mom's on board here :-)

Hope it was a great day!

Hi helen!

-- Robert & Jean (getingwarmer@ga.inthespring), May 15, 2004.

A very pretty picture Gayla. I wish my petunas looked as nice. They were a pretty scrawny bunch this year as we are now on permanent water restrictions. It's taking me a long time to get used to not being able to water when I feel like it.

Hi Tricia. I hope the job's going well. Are you working with little ones?

Hello Helen. I hope you are putting that degree to good use.
