Bay window caboose lettering

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Central of Georgia Railway Historical Soc : One Thread

I'd like to use the Wright Trax SR bay window caboose for a CofG bay window. Did the bay window have any of the center coupla heralds or just central of georgia lettering? Any pictures available on these? Thanks, rdc

Robert,

We've not found any indication that any of the 15 Southern bay window caboose assigned to (and lettered for) CofGa in the 1960s ever wore any lettering scheme other than a plain block-style roadname. That style roadname is included in the Microscale CofGa caboose decal set, along with the the correct style of road numbers.

An article in the July-Sept 2003 (Vol. 7, No. 3) issue of THE RIGHT WAY covered lettering styles on cabooses. There is a photograph in that article of one of the steel bay window cabooses. Back issues should be available at the CGRHS online store.
