Metz(???) chair, steel/canvas rocker recliner, 1920's

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Art Deco Society of Washington : One Thread

I have available a beautifully angular flat steel,(wrought iron), high backed folding chair, that is suspended by curved hooks from iron triple triangular supports. It has a metal footrest, rolled canvas seat that adjusts as the chair reclines. It rocks as a swing and also reclines. It looks like a santarium chair or a strange metal trap. I was told by the owner/antique dealer that it was known as a Metz Chair and it was featured in a design magazine some 20 years ago alone in a room with important paintings. He called it industrial art furniture. We are looking for the magazine article.

If anyone writes me about it I can email pictures.
