sedgwick elevator

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

We have a Sedgwick Residential elevator installed 12/7/91. It is in need of major repairs. The company that made the elevator - Pelle - is no longer in business. Simco is involved in some way but the original parts are no longer made. Help, please. Leanne Hopkins

we are a midwest distributor for pelle and they own the rights to the sedgewick parts. you will probably need to get a local elevator company to install them but we may be able to help in obtaining these parts.

Peelle is, in fact, still alive and kicking. 1-800-645-1056. WWW.Peelledoor.com Brad Hunt or Laura Neumann can help you.

Cemco 1-800-962-3626 I belive is the other company your talking about. They more than likely distributed the elevator to your local shop and Peele manufactured the gate hardware and hoistway equipmant. That '91 Sedgwick should not be impossible to find parts for, just more work than most companies usually expend.

Like with a lot of machinery, Sedwick used a lot of common parts on the elevator. Most parts that were spicificly manufactured for the elevator could be fabercated or repaired without much fan-fair.

Other components could simply be replaced with newer more common parts that work in the same fashon.

This should not be a big problem.

What parts do you need? Do you know what's wrong with the elevator?
