Please help me! I have been looking for a converter to switch my quicktime .mov files into .avi files for a while now, cos the only video editing software i have (animation shop 2) doesn't work with quicktime videos. The only converters i can find either cost a bomb or expire within a few days. If anyone could recomend a decent converter thats completely free i would be extremely grateful. thanks!

Supposedly Rad Video Tools can do this and is free. Go to http://www.vcdhelp.com and look at their guides under Conversions. They have a guide for using Rad Video Tools to do this. I've never done it, so I can't comment on how well it works.

It works fantastically!! Actually it is the only software thatīll do the job for you. Iīve tried quite a few others -free and shareware- and all I could get was an unreadable file any time I tried to convert from mov to avi. With Rad video tools you have a selection of all the codecs available on your PC to choose from, so you can get playable avis. Good luck! Oso
