buying an MV ---east to west coast---

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Just wanted to say this is my first post but I've been reading this forum for years. After owning a YZF, duc 750 then 853, then 996....I think I'm ready to take the plunge into the MV realm. I'd have to say the tonz of posts I've read on this site have helped fuel and inspire my desire for an MV...thx everyone!!!

Im looking to get an MV shipped from Florida to bay area california but I want to be safe about it. Does anyone here know of 1) an escrow dealer (3rd party) thats good and will ensure a safe transfer of my funds (following my approval upon receiving the bike).... and 2)a reputable motorcycle shipping company to get my bike safely from Florida to California. ...and 3) it wouldn't hurt to save a few bucks with either so.....what would each of these run (I presume around 200 for the broker/escrow thing and ~400 for the shipping). Thx again everyone!!!

I got my bike shipped from NY to CA then to Hawaii. I went through escrow.com and paid a small fee(not to sure how much). Then another $700 for shipping to CA through Allied Van Delivery. They deal with a lot of motorcycles and they provide everything, so you would not have to crated or prep. the bike. They pick it up from where ever you want them to as well. Let me know if you had any other questions.

I've used Forward Air for shipping several times. Very good.

You could try these guys for a price comparison... http://www.haulbikes.com/haulbikes.html I have not dealt with them personally so I can't comment on their reputability.

Have you considered picking the bike up yourself, maybe Amtrak's autotrain or something? Since you would be paying mucho dinero, and these are not easily accessible bikes, why not see it through? Just asking...
