Converting mpeg to VCD is taking forever. Is something wrong?

Hi, I'm currently burning a VCD on Nero Express from mpg and avi files. It's running on a 2.4 GHz AMD processor/ windows 2000. It has been running for 6 days and Nero says its only completed 12%. Can this be right? Does it really need so much processing or is something wrong? CPU is at 100%. Is it in an infinite loop? Please advise!

Don't use Nero to convert to VCD. TMPGenc (http://www.tmpgenc.net) offers much better quality and will be faster than Nero. If it has taken this long, something is definitely wrong.

Their is something wrong with your program maybe the nero program is not compatible with the machine for vcd . I suggest you try NTI cd maker. The amd chip is fine as well possibly the ram might not be enough you might need 512mb. plus windows 2000 is as good as win xp . xp is much better for video and music just giving you my ideas
