Avoiding Tent Condensation

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Mountaineering : One Thread

Hi, me and my friends went winter camping last weekend (trying a fourteener), but on our second night all the condensation from our breath and stuff just froze to the inside of the tent, forming a thick layer of frost on everything. We were using a three season tent with lots of ventilation, and it was only 5 degrees F when we went to bed. Any suggestions on how to avoid this problem, or what serious mountaineers do in these situations? We had to abort the climb because of it, so it really sucked. All help would be appreciated. Thanks, Lucas
