There are tutorials on using TMPGenc at http://www.vcdhelp.com. I think what your problem is, although you didn't exactly say it, is that you want smaller files. You either have to edit the file that TMPGenc produces or lower the bit rate when encoding. Please understand that while lowering the bit rate will shrink the file size, it will also cause the video quality to be worse. If your video source is about 1 hour and 40 minutes long, it's going to be about 1 Gig when converted to VCD. If you REALLY REALLY REALLY want smaller files, you might look into KVCD. The web site for this is, I think, http://www.kvcd.org. Do a web search if that doesn't work. I will warn you that I have never made a KVCD. KVCD does some things that violate VCD standards to shrink the size of the files and some people have reported weird problems with the format, such as not being able to see color in their videos :-( My personal feeling is that CD-Rs are so cheap that you shouldn't really be sacrificing video quality to try to get everything on one disc, but that's your decision.

I have an even worse problem

First my comptuer couldn't play OGM files, so I downloaded a whole series of codecs (OGG filters) to allow it to play. Now I can't burn VCD's.

Nero 5 was able to convert AVI files to MEPG files before burning them as VCD's. Ever since I downloaded the codecs, I haven't been able to do that for any avi file. Anyone have an idea? it shouldn't have anything to do with the codecs.

Thanks!
