Southern Yellow Flatcar

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Southern Railway : One Thread

About two months ago, while in Blacksburg, South Carolina, I saw a Southern Flat Car (in a fast-moving passing train) which I am sure was yellow with white lettering. The word Southern was spelled out in white across the side of the car in the standard font. I am not absolutely sure, but the car seemed to have very short bulkheads or a shallow well. It was an old but clean car, and empty at the time. I have never seen a yellow Southern freight car, and I am wondering if anyone knows of such cars and can offer any additional details. I would like to obtain a picture of this type car if possible.

Thanks, John P.
