Hi Julia! It all depends on who you will go through for your training and certification. I went with a Midwife run organization www.birthingoptions.com but there are many others. Birthing Options has a lot of requirements and you just meet those and attend the amount of births they require and then you can submit for your certification. Cappa, Dona, Birthing from within, and many others can certify you. Do a quick search on Doula cerification and there will be many that pop up for ya to go to. The biggest part is reading about the different organizations and then picking the one you would like to go with then you see if there is an instrutor in your area! :) I have been in training for 2 months now and I think I may be done in about 8-10 months in all. :) Chelita Lundell Provisional Birth Doula Student Monitrice Soon to be Student Midwife
