Wiring a Digitrax and a Altas Commander on same layout

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Wiring for DCC : One Thread

I have an N gauge setup running 3 main lines, A,B and C. I want to run line B with a digitrax db150. And run lines A and C with The Atlas Commander. I have the three lines insulated from each other. My question is this: How do I wire these two so that the loco’s run Smoothly from one line to the other. A drawing by Email would Be deeply appreciated. Thank you in advance. Dick, a little more information about your plan would be helpful. Do you want to use the Altas handhelds to control all three lines? Or do you want to use a Digitrax handheld to control the DB150 and therefore line B?

By having two different DCC systems on one layout, you give up one of the main benefits of DCC. From your posting it is not clear if you use the DB150 as a command station, or as a booster. If it is running as a command station, then the first sentence applies. As a booster, you basically have a separate power district, and there is not real difference between using the DB-150 and a Lenz booster with your commander. There is some description on Lenz's webside about this. On the other hand, you cannot run the DB-150 as a command station, and use the commander as a throttle.
