Post Collapse Bone Grafting

Some doctors indicate that the best treatment following a collapse of the femoral head is some form of implant, either hemi resurfacing or total hip replacement.

However, if there has been only a slight collapse of the femoral head and the pain is not too severe, is it still possible to treat with a bone grafting procedure? The size of the lesion seems to make a difference with respect to the bone grafting, so if the lesion is large does that cause the treatment to lean more towards an implant, such as resurfacing?

With larger lesions and collapse I would use an implant. If the lesion is very large it may not support a resurfacing and you may need a complete hip replacement.
