Poor VCD play quality while playing vcd on my laptop computergreenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread
I recently purchased A NOTEBOOK COMPUTER AND i DECIDED THAT I WOULD TRY PLAYING A VCD WHILE TRAVELING. WHEN I DID SO THE MOVIE PLAYED IN SQURES AND MADE LOUD SHARP NOISES. (SIMILAR TO THE NOISE A SATELITE SIGNAL OR DIGITAL SIGNAL MAKES WHEN IT BREAKD UP. i WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DOWNLOAD IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE QULITY OF PLAY. i CURRENTLY AM USING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 9 AND POWER DVD. i TRIED UPDATING MY VIDEO CARD DRIVERS BUT IT DIDN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I USED SO OF WINDOWS XP TROUBLESHOOTER TIPS. THEY QUALITY DID IMPROVE SLIGHTLY BUT WHILE PLAYING IT STILL DOES MAKe thE NOISES AND BEREAKS INTO SQUARES. I KNOW THAT SOME VCDS BREAK INTO SQUARES WHEN IN CONSTANT ACTION BUT THIS IS DIFFERENT. HELP!!!

First of all, posting in ALL CAPS is not a good way to get help. If you do this again, you will be ignored. Second, you tell us nothing about the source of your VCD. Did you make it yourself? Did you download it? The problem might be with the VCD itself and there may be nothing you can do about it.
