Sony DSC-V1 & memory sticks

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Photography Singapore : One Thread

I will be going to Singapore at the end of August 2003, and I would like to pick up a digital camera. What should I expect to pay for a Sony DSC-V1? A 512 or 256 MByte memory stick? Any recommended shops? I guess I should avoid Chinatown.

You can't go far wrong at Cathay Photo, located in Peninsula Plaza (close to City Hall MRT Station). You may also want to check out www.BargainCity.com.sg to get a feel of prices. Chinatown and Sim Lim Square isn't too bad, if you know current price trends in Singapore, but avoid if you don't. Harvey Norman and Best Denki sells at recommended retail prices, which are usually quite a bit higher Cathay Photo and some shops in the two locations named.
