air box

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

I just recently bought and MV 1+1 that had 850 miles on it. I rode it for the first and I had a smile that u could not get of my face. I installed a carbon fiber air box from QB Carbon that he sold me. I took it out for a ride and it seem to bogg around 1500 to 4500 RMP. Does anybody know if I need to get it tuned or is this normal? Thanks Duc

Presumeably it was ok before you installed the air box?- i would`nt of thought it would make that much differance at those revs,a flat spot at these revs is not uncommon with the MV,a lot of it can be tuned out by richening the CO,i think the book says 3-3.5%CO,but i had better results at 4.5%CO,ultimately though if your going to alter things on the bike i would suggest a Power Commander,i have one on mine and can recommend it-try www.moto-mv.com/
