Once a year at Christmas time my California farmer grandfather ships me an entire box of oranges from his packing house. They are delicious! This last year I took some of the oranges, washed them well, peeled them and scraped the inner rind off the peel. I then simmered them in sugar syrup and rolled the final product in sugar and dried them in the oven until truly dry. I then took these candied orange peel, and ground them in my blender. They made a wonderfully flavorful powder that was really useful. I used this powder as a sweetner for coffee, tea, and as an additive to hot cocoa(Yummy!). I also used it to roll chocolate covered candies in. I hope you try this and enjoy it as much as I do.
