Garden poem

Where are those vegetables, anyway?

Spring begins and so do I,

Good intentions seem to fly,

Shoveling, turning, tilling the ground,

Raking, hoeing, building mounds,

In which to plant tiny seeds,

Waiting for me to fill their needs,

Off they grow through wind, rain and damaging hail,

Now there's a jungle that makes me pale,

I dig through weeds to get the squash,

And there ARE green beans, My Gosh!

Hair I hang, for the deer,

Who never seem to run in fear,

Oh well, there's always next year!!!
