I have a old watercolor painting i'm trying to identify and date. It is rectangle with the artist name of L. Howell. At a artist friend of mines recommondation we took the frame apart to see if there was anything behind the picture that would help. on the back of the frame itself was a label half torn off. said: SCHUS (the rest is gone) ART DEALER 119-121 GEARY ST. SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. the old newspaper that was behind the painting at my friend guess was from 1880 - 1915 best guess. there is also a write-up about Hot Spring, at Coyote Lake near Gilroy. Could you tell me how to find out any more info on this.?
