No folders?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Anders Petersson's Freeware Forum : One Thread

Hi, I've just downloaded NHB and attempted to back up a couple of folders to the same destination folder. It appears that NHB backs up the files within the source folders to the destination folder without the original folders. When I check the Backup folder the original source folders are not there. Am I missing something or is NHB unable to Backup both the source folder and files, just the files?

Thanks

Hi Gordon.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. I'll try to answer:

NHB copies the CONTENT of a folder. It may be files or folder, but everything in the folder you've selected to backup will be backed up. NHB will not create a folder on the destination with the same name as the folder you selected to backup. So, if you backup

c:\temp

to

d:\dest

the content of c:\temp will be placed directly in d:\dest. If you want to you can manually choose d:\dest\temp as the destination folder.

I hope I've answered your question.

I think he described the same problem i am having and i will give an example :

my backup set is D:\ to E:\

The structures look like D:\ + old dir + new dir

E:\ + old dir

When executing the backup set (D:\ to E:\), it only backups the content under D:\ and +old dir. It will fail backing up the +new dir folder because it cannot create it somehow.

Running Win2k SP3
