Dear New York City Colleagues:

As you know your district offices along with science departments will officially cease to exist next week. We do not know for certain what next year will bring in terms of science, but at the moment it looks like we will be pretty much on our own with little or no regional support.

I am therefore suggesting that we organize ourselves and get together on a regular basis to troubleshhoot, plan, and support each other. The meetings would of course be strictly voluntary and after school with no financial compensation. I personally will be a classroom teacher next year but I would like to stay in touch with all of you in some way other than the bulletin board postings.

I will arrange a couple of days next week for an introductory meeting. Please let me know by e-mail if you can make it either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week for about an hour after school at a site to be announced. If you can't make it next week but you still are interested in the idea for next year, also send me an e-mail to that effect.
