Hi my name is Gillian I am parent of a daughter with cerebral palsy this is why I set up Special Abilities which is a self-help support and information organisation that as been set up to provide information to parents/carers of a special needs children.

We are a non paid voluntary organisation that is based in Lupset Wakefield and we provide free information booklets, to a parent/carer of special needs children in which these books have information on all aspects of special needs Childs needs, we have, a children’s art gallery, lots of web pages of information, a Fathers page and much more. Our main aim is to give every special needs child a voice that can be heard and be seen as an individual in their own right, we hope our web site can help achieve this. We are pleased to announce that we have now printed a new information book that follows onto the national information book. Unfortunately we now have to make a small charge of £2.50 per book, which includes postage and packaging to parents/carers of special needs children. A charge of £5.00 per book including postage and packaging for Organisations and professional bodies, this is due to funding. We have up to date sent out over a thousand books to parents/carers and professionals and have received very good Feedback about the contents of the books.
