Rear Brake Problem

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

My rear brake has gone completely. I have read about the possibility of hot fluid in the master cylinder being the problem but the brake is still out even when cold. Any suggestions would help guys. Thanks

....and then it'll work for 3 days!

Get a new master cylinder fitted under warranty

....and then it'll work for 3 days!

Change the fluid from Dot.4 to Dot.5

....and then it'll work for 3 days!

Heat-wrap the exhaust section near the master cylinder

....and then it'll work for 3 days!

Bleed it as often as you like

....and then it'll work for 3 days!

I've given up!!!!!!

My rear brake has worked well from the start. I have close to 2k miles, it has been hot due to ambient temp.,never a problem. I'd say bleed the line, try it again.

quick way to get rid of the bubble: push the pad out, still in place in the caliper, it force the fluide in the master cylinder, and the bubble. It work perfect for me, I do it each time I clean the bike.

Ralph I happen to think 3 days is quite good - still get down to Goodwood on Sundays? Are you goiung to Beaulieu as it's your part of the country? Mark

That's an intelligent answer - I'll give it a try.
