Prints fading : LUSENET : polaroid transfers : One Thread

This isn't a question, but a statement of something that happened to me. I had several 8 x 10 and 3 x 4 framed prints hanging close to the front window of a gallery for about 6 months. There was an awning hanging over the front of the building, so no direct light came in (or at a very low angle and never directly touched my prints). I hadn't applied UV spray to them because I had done some pastel pencil on them. Well, when I went to pick them up, I was astounded. They had ALL faded pretty badly. I had a red rose that was turned to a light pink and had lost it's detail.

So, I just wanted to issue a warning that it can happen and not in direct or even strong indirect light. Unfortunately, I don't know an answer to this and I don't know what to tell the people to whom I've sold some of these in the past. I'm just wondering what to do with my prints now!

My goodness! That's terrible! Can you tell us more about those prints. Emulsion transfers/image transfers? What paper etc.
