Yes, I saw it, too. Most will miss it -- you only get to see a second or two of the tail section of the MV F4. Unfortunately, it gets all blown up. The tail section looked black, but it was hard to tell. There's a black 916/996/998 in the movie, too, for a whole long scene.

I went and saw the movie on Wednesday and noticed it also. It would have been much better to see the MV in the chase seen but Ducati is a more recognizable name to the public. I am just glad the movie makers got the sound right on both motorcycles. I hate seeing a movie with a twin and they make it sound like a four cylinder.

It looked like the 1+1 Senna cause of the red seat and paint job. There are some out there. If you look real hard you can see the black and dark grey paint job

hehe. that gives me a reason to watch. hehe. i havent seen a 1+1 senna ever.

Notice that I rode the Ducati after I'd just happened to come upon a whole trailer full of them. Later, when I had to get somewhere fast and I had the choice any bike in the world, I chose the MV Agusta F4.

I don't believe there is such a thing as a 1+1 Senna. Sennas are one seaters. FWIW, the Ducati was dark green, not black.

-- Ross (ti4787@aol.com), May 18, 2003.

No, the Ducati was in fact black, it's just that everything in the matrix has a greenish tint to it to help let the audience know when they're in the matrix and when they're not.

At least the Senna really looked black! You see guys! Told you the Senna is the most desirable bike in the world. Even Ms. Trinity's personal choice is the F4!!!!

-- dza (dzaprojects@yahoo.co.uk), May 18, 2003.

yes there are a few 1+1 sennas floating around, seen one

-- (rpaggen@hotmail.com), May 19, 2003.

I also noticed, Trinity, that you took the time to wear a helmet when you had the choice later on with the MV =)

I also noticed that the Senna was using a black rear wheel and a black trellis i guess

-- dza (dzaprojects@tiscali.it), May 27, 2003.

It was definitely Ducati 996! I saw the logo on the side cowl!

-- aprilsky (ileess@hanafos.com), May 29, 2003.

Actually, the 996 is green - check out the photo on the Warner Bros. site: http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/rl_cmp/april_pix6.html

I bought a VCD of the Matrix. I tried to watch the MV part several times and I can prove that the MV is NOT a Senna but a glossy black repainted S model. FYI, the side panel has the Agusta MV decal and its got a black rear wheel and a black steel trellis. CIAO!!!!!!

it was a ducati 996. so donīt ever fight against the right or something http://www.ducati.com/it/scoopage.jhtml?area=bikes&scoopNum=081

-- franzi (fr4nz1@gmx.de), June 15, 2003.

You are right that all original model Senna's were single seaters.

I have a 99' 916 Senna and it was good to see a black Duke in the movie. I have had a biposto seat put on my bike with suede but this was done way before I knew about Ducati being featured in the movie.

Just to help elaborate, and back up the theory on Trinity using a 996 in that scene:

Compare: http://www.ducati.com/it/scoopage.jhtml?area=bikes&scoopNum=081 to: http://www.ducati.com/scoopage.jhtml?area=bikes&scoopNum=087

Notice they faded the 6 so it almost looks like an 8? I think they want you to set your eyes on the new and upcoming 998.

In addition to that, here's what the stunt lady had to say about it: http://www.ducati.com/racing/home_news_popup.jhtml;?newsId=15754

I'm no expert, but does the 996 come with a Double-seat like the one in the movie? Just casually browsing around, it seems the 996 has just the single-seat.
