About VCD Header trick

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have little bit of hard time with this trick. I made one test disc with header trick and now i have pause problem. One thing is that the original SVCD file is 36min long , ok. But this vcd header disk is shown in my standalone DVD player by about 71min. Is this reason why i get in play couple second pauses all the time?? What i can do for this. I burned it with Nero, it didnt made any conversions ofcourse as i took normal compliant cd marking off in options when burning the disc. Now i am all the questionmark what to do next??

Nero takes a lot of shortcuts in making SVCDs. They're not really by the book and technically violate the standards, although they are close enough that most players don't care. It could be that your player doesn't like your media. Try burning to CD-RW and if that works better, use another brand of CD-R. You aren't encoding with Nero are you? That's always a bad idea and can cause weird problems. If you still have problems, there is a more advanced forum at http://network54.com/Hide/Forum/70438 and someone there might be able to help. You might also look at the DVD Player Compatibility List at http://www.vcdhelp.com and see what it says about your player and SVCD.
