You have to do what is called "overburning" to write that much data, even to a 870 MB CD-R. No version of Roxio allows overburning. You will have to use another burning program. Nero (http://www.ahead.de) allows overburning and you can download it and use it free for 30 days before you have to buy a license. If you use Nero, there is a setting where you can tell it how many minutes to overburn, so set it for enough to write to your big CD-Rs.

Overburning 870mb onto a 700mb CD might be a problem. There are CD that are (un)officially rated to hold 870mb. If your software requires that you specific the target CD-R's capacity in minutes, 870mb is about 99min.

Vaguely related, but interesting: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/xcd.htm http://xcd.sourceforge.net/
